The flagship Core i9-14900K is still the star of the show, though, with a 6GHz boost at stock speeds, 24 cores, and 32 threads. The 14900K is still built on Intel’s 7 process and its x86 performance hybrid architecture. That means there are performance cores (P-cores) and efficiency cores (E-cores) that split workloads using Intel’s Thread Director, an embedded microcontroller inside the CPU that monitors threads and ensures they’re running on the correct cores. Core i9-14900K gets an exclusive feature in the form of the Intel Application Optimization (APO). An extension of Intel Dynamic Tuning framework, the feature promises game-specific optimizations for the processor, resulting in performance uplifts to the tune of 13% for "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege," and 16% for "Metro Exodus." It works by optimizing the machine's thread scheduling and manages application resource allocation in real-time. At launch, APO is exclusive to the 14th Gen Core i9 series, and only benefits two games, but the company plans to add more titles through software updates. Intel also introduced the AI Assist feature to Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU), which works exclusively for the 14th Gen Core i9.
The GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER is an enthusiast-class graphics card by NVIDIA. Built on the 5 nm process, and based on the AD103 graphics processor, in its AD103-400-A1 variant, the card supports DirectX 12 Ultimate. This ensures that all modern games will run on GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER. Additionally, the DirectX 12 Ultimate capability guarantees support for hardware-raytracing, variable-rate shading and more, in upcoming video games. The AD103 graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 379 mm² and 45,900 million transistors. It features 10240 shading units, 320 texture mapping units, and 112 ROPs. Also included are 320 tensor cores which help improve the speed of machine learning applications. The card also has 80 raytracing acceleration cores. NVIDIA has paired 16 GB GDDR6X memory with the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 2295 MHz, which can be boosted up to 2550 MHz, memory is running at 1400 MHz (22.4 Gbps effective).
Being a triple-slot card, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER draws power from 1x 16-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 320 W maximum. Display outputs include: 1x HDMI 2.1, 3x DisplayPort 1.4a. GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 4.0 x16 interface.
