Plan and Run a new business line: AI based Intelligence & compute systems - On-Prem Hardware with Custom Full Stack or Licence-based Intelligence Solutions for SMBs

About the role

We are hiring a Business Development Executive to open and own a new business line.

Every sale is a stack: the hardware, the software set up on the firm's own requirements of the project, or a yearly support contract, quoted as a proposal, delivered by the team.

Your job is to generate leads, turn that demand into closed business, and to build the sales channel that does not exist yet. You will own the demonstrations and the first 20 sales conversations of a 45-day pilot, and you will report what happened, wins and losses alike.

Primary responsibilities

Pipeline

  • Create and maintain every business-line lead in our own platform, tagged with its source channel and its segment; keep stage, next action and next date current on every open lead.
  • Record every demo held and every lost sale with its reason. Nothing counts unless it is in the platform.
  • Answer new leads the same working day, and keep the callback list honest: a lead that goes quiet is a lost lead, not a pending one.
  • Work our existing base first, with personal outreach, not a bulk mailout.

Demonstrations

  • Book, prepare and run 30-minute "bring your own documents" sessions
  • Log what the demonstration could not do. A gap a customer asked for is a product input, and goes to engineering in writing.

New channels

  • Professional bodies: CPE seminars, study circles, newsletters and regional council events of the target class of firms in Hyderabad, including a speaking or sponsoring slot on running AI on the firm's own server, client confidentiality and data protection.
  • Find those serving firms near us, propose referral or resale terms for approval, and track their referrals.
  • Brief and support LinkedIn and local search campaigns aimed at partners and owners of the firms in Hyderabad, plus landing page copy, a demo video and a three-year cost comparison against per-user cloud pricing.
  • Keep the B2B marketplace listing current.

Qualifying, quoting and closing

  • Qualify before spending a demonstration slot: no in-house IT staff, a professional duty of confidentiality, a heavy document load, and an owner or partner who decides fast.
  • Size the right tier with engineering and put hardware, software licence, installation project and support contract on separate lines of every quote. Never one blended price.
  • Keep quote validity short and explain why: component prices move fast.
  • Carry the support conversation, not just the sale: the stated replacement time or loaner in each tier, the update schedule, and what remote support can and cannot reach.

Learning back to the company

  • Update the segment and channel scorecard after every conversation, so the pilot review is readable from records rather than from memory, losses included.
  • Record what the demonstration box actually handles, users and document length per tier, before those tiers go on a quote.

Related and extended responsibilities

  • Pre-sales technical support: run the demonstration and answer questions like "will it read my vendor's invoices". You install nothing; anything you promise beyond what the demonstration showed is confirmed by engineering first.
  • Continuing business: workstations, servers, storage and rentals for studios, labs and institutes, picked up as normal sales work.
  • Handover and account keeping: attend the installation kick-off, hand requirements and agreed scope to the delivery and support team, and stay the customer's contact for renewals, upsells and the annual support renewal.
  • References and consent: ask satisfied customers for a named reference, testimonial or case note, and record their written consent. No name, logo or quote is used without it.
  • Partner and channel administration: referral-fee paperwork, partner agreements, seminar sponsorship invoices, stall and event logistics, with the accounts team and the PA.
  • The second wave: research computing for public labs, institutes and research departments, including government e-procurement and tender paperwork;
  • Improvement requests for our own platform: ask for the features sales needs instead of working around them in spreadsheets.
  • Occasional consumer-brand event support, such as café tournaments and store promotions, when the business pipeline is not time-critical.

Required skills

  • 2 to 5 years in B2B sales or business development, ideally selling to professional firms (chartered accountancy, legal, IT services) or selling hardware, IT or software to small and mid-size businesses.
  • Based in Hyderabad, and willing to work from the store and in the field, including weekend seminar and event dates.
  • Comfortable presenting to partner-level audiences: standing up at a professional-body seminar, or running a 30-minute session over an auditor's real invoices on screen.
  • Writes accurately. You will draft landing page copy and cost comparisons; you may be briefed by someone else, but you will not invent anything.
  • A records habit. Our entire evidence base for this pilot is what you write into the platform.
  • Genuine interest in the product: you must be able to say honestly what a local AI model can and cannot do on a firm's documents.
  • English required; Hindi and Telugu strongly preferred.

Additional skills

  • A working network among local firms, software service partners or resellers in Hyderabad.
  • A commerce, accounting or legal background that moved into sales.
  • Prior work with a CRM or an internal sales platform, and unbothered by an in-house tool that is functional rather than polished.
  • Any hands-on familiarity with local or open-source AI tools.

Languages

  • English (required)
  • Hindi and Telugu (strongly preferred)

What we offer

  • Ownership of a new business line from its first conversation, not a quota on a mature one.
  • A real, working demonstration system, and in-house engineering behind it: our own company runs the same stack daily.
  • Direct line to the founder, weekly review during the pilot, and a decision at day 90 that you supplied the evidence for.
  • The training and product access you need, and a defined first 30 days.
  • A small team: what you build into this role stays yours.

Pay and remuneration

₹3 - 6 LPA CTC

The actual package + Performance Linked Bonus will be discussed and negotiated with our HR team during the recruitment process, based on the applicant's skill set, performance and relevant experience.
